I still remember taking piano lessons when I was young and exaggerating my practice time to make the teacher happy. Okay…so I lied to her. I didn’t realize at the time, but I was starting something that would become a part of me. Over the years I’ve drifted a bit, first tackling piano, then trumpet, and finally guitar. Music is now interwoven with the very fabric of my soul, and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with Numbered Days. After completing college and heading out to the working world, I was determined to find a band of friends (there’s a bad pun). When I first met Bryan, we both knew we were in for trouble. It was and still is incredible. Expressing ourselves through music that flows from our fingertips and mouths is nothing short of awesome. I truly hope that people find our music insightful, challenging, real, and of course, full of rock. My CD collection is seasoned with many, many bands. One of my biggest influences is the Dave Matthews Band, which fits in with my love of guitar and jazz/improvisation. I also enjoy listening to Sister Hazel, a group who first hooked me with lush vocal harmonies. Mark Tremoti’s guitar work in Creed always amazed me, and it follows naturally that I love Alter Bridge. Other than that, there are definitely the standard guitar heroes: EVH, Slash, Satriani, etc. Those guys are inspiring. You’ll also find me listening to artists ranging from Garth Brooks to Jeremy Camp to System of a Down. As I said, seasoned to taste. I'm playing a Gibson Les Paul these days - - a guitar that possesses killer tones and weighs a thousand pounds. I am currently in the process of upgrading my amp and effects, so stay tuned for more in that area. On another note, I'm always strumming away on the acoustics. I would like to thank my parents for having me (no need to go into details). They’ve always offered encouragement and support throughout my music career. Karissa has been the best in supporting all of the endless hours of work that go into the band. Thanks babe! I would also like to thank Bryan, Chris, and Drew, who have become like a second family. Thanks also goes out to everyone who makes it out to our shows and rocks right along side us. Last, but definitely not least, I would especially like to thank God, who has made all of this possible. Without His grace, salvation, and unconditional love, only dysfunctional chaos (if that) would remain. Thank you. As human beings, we all have numbered days. So let’s make the most of it by taking on a complex world full of fear, strife, diversity, dreams, and most of all - - hope. Rock it, Greg Send Email to Greg | |
